Certified Organic Seed is produced by a certified grower who affirms that the seed has not been exposed to any chemicals throughout its growth cycle in the field, including its harvest and processing. Organic growers use neither manufactured fertilizers, herbicides nor pesticides to control weeds and pests nor to provide for soil enrichment. Rather, they rely on crop rotation, composts and green manures to achieve results similar to what conventional growers attain through the use of chemicals.
