Complex flowers a feast for the eyes and for hungry butterflies. Although some people may call them Milkweeds, there’s nothing weedy about Asclepias. It’s a genus of American flowers that’s known to be one of the biggest butterfly-magnets out there. But you don’t need to be an insect to appreciate the flowers. Botanists recognize them as having a structure so complex that it approaches that of certain orchids. Use Asclepias for informal gardens with a wildflower meadow feel and as a component in butterfly-friendly gardens.
