Scented carnations are easy to grow. Although growing the showiest cut carnations is something of an art, you can grow perfectly pretty carnations at home. And if you’re willing to go the extra mile, your cut carnations could even be indistinguishable from the ones at your local florist. Carnations prefer poor, well-drained soil and sunshine. Other than that, you can decide whether to let your carnations make lots of little sweetheart blooms, or disbud and stake for a few stunners.
