The plant we've loved for thousands of years. Sage is among the first plants ever to be cultivated by mankind. Back then, it was seen as a very important medicinal plant, but people also recognized it for its flavour, particularly its special knack with chicken. Modern medical research hasn’t turned up anything special about sage, but it’s still the must-have ingredient if you hope to serve up the most fragrant roast chicken. Bring bees to the garden and enjoy the sweet-smelling flowers. Note: Sage contains thujone, a compound that may be unsafe, especially if consumed in large quantities.
