About Our Iaido & Kendo Hakama Our Hakama workshops are among the very few manufacturing 100% made in Japan Hakama for Kendo/Iaido (learn more about the workshops on our Artisans Presentation Page ). The Keiko model is designed with hard training in mind, for maximum comfort and durability, with many reinforced parts and is the sturdiest Kendo/Iaido Hakama on the market. Our other models are manufactured by a small workshop in Tokyo that has been manufacturing Budo Hakama for more than a century. It is the oldest workshop in Japan still in activity and the very last workshop producing partially handmade Hakama in the purest tradition. The sizing is slightly different from the Aikido Hakama, but the overall advice on how to choose a Hakama also applies to Iaido/Kendo Hakama, so do not hesitate to check out the " How to Choose Your Hakama " for more details.
