Shop today! What is Polyester? Polyester is a synthetic fiber that provides less elasticity than nylon but is otherwise very similar. It is resistant to moisture and unaffected by oil, grease, and most other chemicals. Polyester fibers are virtually immune to rot, decay, and chemical-based weakening, and highly resistant to abrasion, harmful UV lights, and heat. Polyester will not shrink after getting wet, and the temperature has little impact on its flexibility, making it a great roping and Mesh Bag option for indoor, outdoor, and marine applications. Types of Polyester Rope Twisted Polyester Rope By twisting polyester fibers into strands, then twisting those strands into rope, you are left with a strong rope with non-elastic properties superior to most other ropes. With high resistance to stretching and distortion, polyester rope stays taut and can be tied, re-tied, and tied yet again. Our Twisted Polyester Rope offers heavy-duty strength suitable for all-weather conditions and applications where stretching is not desired, from boats to oil rigs to ranches and beyond. Braided Polyester Rope Braided polyester rope uses fibers braided into tube-like strands for a smooth and flexible roping option that is easier on the hands than twisted rope. SGT KNOTS Solid Braided Nylon Rope and Double Braid Polyester Rope are more difficult to spice and completely resistant to rot, moisture, oil, gasoline, and virtually any other chemical abrasives, making them excellent choices for marine applications on the dock, o
