Custom Clay Policy We will be happy to produce a custom clay body for you. We guarantee that all percentages and ingredients of your formula will be followed exactly. Custom bodies will be mixed with water according to your moisture content specifications and processed through a de-airing pugmill. To ensure purity of custom orders there is a flat fee of $75.00 for cleaning equipment and switching production lines on orders less than 4000 lbs. Minimum custom order is 2500 lbs. Price All custom clay bodies will be priced individually. Various quantity discounts will be quoted so as to afford the customer different purchasing options. Orders over 4000 lbs. will not be charged a cleaning fee. Generally, most clay bodies will follow our stock clay body and delivery prices. Please allow 2-4 weeks lead time for custom clays. Custom Clay Test Batches Samples batches are available for testing custom formulas. These samples are based on a 50 pound dry batch and yield about 60 pounds of moist, pugged clay. The price for custom samples is $90.00 per batch. Reclaim Policy We are happy to reprocess your clay scraps. They must be near working consistency and bagged. We will adjust the clay to your moisture content specifications and completely mix, re-pug and repackage it. Minimum amount is 4000 lbs. The charge is $0.20 per lb. plus freight each way. OTHER CUSTOM SERVICES Sheffield Pottery can produce other types of custom formulas for you as well in addition to moist clays. We can mix dry clays, wet or dry glazes, and casting slips to your exact specifications. Please call for information on these services. Statement of Confidentiality All of the formulas used by Sheffield Pottery, Inc. to produce custom clay bodies for our customers are held in the strictest confidence. Under no circumstances is custom formula information released without written consent of the customer.
