Pyrus communis Similar to to cider apples, perry pears are pears that are best suited to making an alcoholic beverage known as perry or pear cider. While not a great option for fresh eating, many of the pears here are heirloom varieties that have stood the test of time for perry production. Pears generally require two varieties for pollination.
