About
Pan Yi is a young and promising ceramist working exclusively with zisha, or purple clay. She has over a decade of experience crafting teapots from zisha, and her extended family are involved in almost every aspect of the zisha trade: from quarrying the raw material through crafting teapots. Pan Yi’s pieces are informed by an in-depth knowledge of traditional and modern teapot forms, and an encyclopedic knowledge of clay types and firing techniques. Each is a balance of grace and precision. Her studio is located in Dingshan, Jiangsu Province, China.
