Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal: the Blessed Virgin Mary’s appearance to St. Catherine Labouré in Paris in 1830. In her vision, Mary stood upon a globe with rays of light streaming from her hands, symbolizing the graces she bestows upon those who ask. She instructed Catherine to have a medal struck with the words, “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” The medal quickly became a source of countless miracles, conversions, and healings, reminding the faithful of Mary’s intercession and her closeness to all who turn to her in faith.
