About
St. Agnes of Rome was a young girl of noble birth who vowed to remain a virgin for Christ. When she refused to marry a Roman official's son, she was subjected to torture and ultimately martyred for her faith during the reign of Emperor Diocletian. Her purity and unwavering devotion made her a symbol of innocence and courage in the early Christian Church.
