A lens hood reduces glare and flare caused by stray light hitting your lens, giving you sharper images with truer colours and better contrast. They also offer everyday protection for your front lens element. If you're still building out your kit, our camera lens buying guide can help you choose the right glass for your needs. Most camera manufacturers make a dedicated hood for each lens — browse by brand below, or choose a universal screw-on hood if you know your lens's filter thread size. Not sure?
