A Martin Custom Shop guitar is built in Nazareth to a single specification sheet, which means the tonewood pairing, neck profile, bracing and appointments are chosen before the first piece of wood is cut. We spec ours after visiting the factory and playing what the shop is producing, so our floor runs to combinations Martin does not offer as catalog models: Adirondack spruce over sinker mahogany in a D-18 pattern, Adirondack over Guatemalan rosewood in an OM-28 body, spruce over cocobolo in a 0000, and an all-flamed-mahogany 000-17. The collection below is what we have on hand right now, alongside the Custom Shop Expert 1937 recreations of the D-18, D-28, 000-18 and 000-28 that we can order. Every one is a one-of-one or a small run.
