Cabinet Pull Handles Buying Guide A cabinet pull handle fixes to a door or drawer at two points and gives you a bar, D, bow or curved shape to grip. This collection includes pulls from Iver, Momo Handles, Meir Oppen, Nero, Turner Hastings and Otti in brass, stainless steel, zinc alloy and other materials, from compact 96mm pulls to long pantry handles. They suit kitchens, bathroom vanities, laundries and wardrobes. Should I choose pulls or knobs? Pulls have two fixing points, so they give a larger, more comfortable grip and hold up better on heavy drawers. Knobs use one screw and can make a small kitchen look less busy, but are harder to grip for larger hands or limited mobility. Many kitchens use both, such as knobs on doors and pulls on drawers. Keep one finish across both for a consistent look. What size cabinet pull do I need? A good starting point is a pull about one third of the drawer width: around 150mm on a 450mm drawer, 200mm on a 600mm drawer and 300mm on a 900mm drawer. Pulls are sold by their hole centres, measured from the centre of one screw hole to the other. Common centres are 96mm, 128mm, 160mm, 192mm, 256mm and 320mm, with 128mm the most popular in Australian kitchens. Use the overall length to judge proportion and the centres to drill. Very wide drawers can take one long pull or two standard pulls set in the outer thirds. Where should pulls be placed on cabinets? Drawer pulls usually run horizontally, centred left to right, and door pulls run vertically. On base cabinet doors, place the pull near the top corner opposite the hinge; on wall cabinets, near the bottom corner. Keep the end of the pull about 50mm to 75mm from the door edges and use the same position across the whole run. Test with masking tape cut to the pull's length and view it from across the room before drilling. Which handle shape suits my kitchen? Bar pulls on two posts suit modern, flat-panel doors. D handles curve back towards the door and give a generous grip, such as the Momo
