Framed Mirrors Buying Guide Framed mirrors give a vanity wall a finished edge and a clear outline. This collection includes Ingrain round, rectangular, arch and pill mirrors with timber, burnt brushed gold, brushed nickel and matte black frames, some with frontlit or backlit LED lighting, plus the Remer Modern Arch and Timberline Halifax and Miami mirrors. They suit bathrooms, powder rooms, hallways and bedrooms. Should a bathroom mirror have a frame? A frame is a style choice that also protects the mirror's edge. Choose a framed mirror when you want the mirror to be a feature, to match tapware or to soften a plain wall. A metal frame in brushed gold, brushed nickel or matte black ties in with your taps, while a timber frame adds warmth to a natural or coastal bathroom. What size mirror do I need for my vanity? Sizes here include 500 x 900mm arch and 500 x 850mm pill shapes, 600 x 800mm and 750 x 900mm rectangles, 800mm rounds and Timberline mirrors from 600 to 1500mm wide by 720mm high. For a double vanity, you can hang one wide mirror or two smaller mirrors, one over each basin. How high should a bathroom mirror hang? Aim to centre the mirror at roughly eye level, around 1500 to 1650mm from the floor. Leave at least 100mm between the top of the tap and the bottom of the mirror. If the household includes very tall and shorter users, measure both and set the centre between them. Are timber framed mirrors suitable for bathrooms? Yes, with good ventilation. Timber frames suit powder rooms and bathrooms with a working exhaust fan. In a steamy ensuite without much airflow, a metal frame is the more durable choice. Most mirrors here use copper-free glass, which resists the black edge spotting that moisture can cause. What is the difference between frontlit and backlit LED mirrors? A frontlit mirror shines light forward through the glass, giving even light
