The Black Templars are one of the most zealous and fanatical Space Marine Chapters in Warhammer 40K, known for their unwavering devotion to the Emperor and their relentless crusades across the galaxy. Founded during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy, the Black Templars are a Chapter without a fixed homeworld, instead operating as a fleet of Crusaders, constantly engaged in holy wars. They are led by High Marshal Helbrecht and are known for their aggressive, close-combat-focused tactics, often charging headlong into battle with little concern for strategy, driven by their unyielding faith. The Black Templars have little regard for the more bureaucratic aspects of the Codex Astartes, choosing instead to pursue the Emperor’s will through relentless combat. Their battle-brothers are marked by their iconic black armor, adorned with crusader symbols, and their constant pursuit of heretics, xenos, and the forces of Chaos. They are warriors of pure faith, seeing themselves as the Emperor's sword, and their zealous nature makes them both feared and revered across the Imperium.
