Designed by Sera Yanagisawa for TCS, the Ikari Coat Stand takes its name from the Japanese word for ‘anchor ’. The design draws on the form of hooked objects, inspired by an anchor discovered by Yanagisawa on a local beach. Beyond its form, the symbolism of a ship lowering its anchor to rest after a long journey resonates, much like hanging a coat at home marks a ritual of return. Finished in a durable, high-gloss powder coating, Ikari is designed for everyday use and is available in five finishes.
