About
Silver Dynasty is the Dynasty in its brightest form: 67 layers of mirror-polished Damascus steel wrapped around a cobalt-enriched 10Cr15CoMoV core, hardened to 60±2 HRC , on a full tang handle cut from olive wood burl. The pattern is polished bright rather than darkened, and no two handles share a grain. Every blade is hand sharpened and oiled before it ships. Where to start in the range Most kitchens begin with the 8" Chef Knife — the all-rounder that handles nine jobs in ten. Add the 4" Paring Knife for in-hand work and the 8" Bread Knife for loaves, cakes and tomatoes, and you have covered a week of cooking with three blades. For Japanese shapes, the 7" Nakiri is the vegetable specialist with a straight edge that meets the board along its full length, the 7" Santoku is the lighter, shorter all-rounder, and the 8" Kiritsuke adds a reverse-tanto tip for precision slicing. For meat, the range goes heavier: the 7.5" Cleaver for breaking down poultry and hard squash, the 9.5" Butcher Knife for trimming and portioning, and the 10" Scimitar for long, clean strokes through brisket and roasts. The 5" Steak Knives finish the table. Buying several is cheaper as a set: the Samurai Set covers the core shapes, and the Emperor Set is the full collection for a kitchen you are equipping from scratch. Questions we get asked What is the difference between Silver Dynasty and Damascus Dynasty? The steel and the hardness are the same. Silver Dynasty is polished bright with olive wood burl handles; Damascus Dynasty is finished dark with black walnut. Choose on looks, not performance. Will a mirror-polished blade show the Damascus pattern? Yes. The 67 layers are etched before polishing, so the pattern reads as fine silver-on-silver banding that catches the light rather than the high-contrast black-and-steel look. It is the subtler of the two finishes. Do these knives rust? The cobalt-enriched core is stainless, so a rinse and a dry after use is enough. Hand wash only — a dishwasher will
