At the southern tip of Kyushu, Kagoshima is home to a thriving community of artisans, including potter Kido-san. His studio, One Kiln, is nestled in a residential neighborhood, where he creates handmade pottery deeply rooted in the landscape around him. From the ash-rich soils of Sakurajima volcano to clay gathered in the surrounding countryside, his work reflects both his creativity and his connection to Kagoshima. We love how his colors, forms, and textures balance the modern and the traditional.
