The CARAN d'ACHE brand has been a hallmark of quality since 1924, helping to establish 'swiss made' as a byword for craftmanship and technical excellence throughout the world. The word 'karandash' is Russian for pencil, and was also the assumed name of the great French caricaturist of Russian descent, Emmanuel Poiré.
