Washi Tape
A collection page of The Journal Shop
About
Washi tape began as a painter's masking tape in Japan, and it still behaves like one: thin, slightly translucent, easy to tear by hand and happy to lift and reposition without taking the paper with it. That makes it the most forgiving decoration you can put in a journal, a planner or on a parcel. This collection holds more than seven hundred tapes, including the MT range, in plain colours, stripes, grids, florals and seasonal prints. Use it to mark a week, frame a photo, label a spine or seal an envelope. The paper texture has a faint, papery grip under your fingertip that plastic tape never has. You never have to worry about getting it wrong; if it's crooked, peel it off and try again. Start with three rolls, and you will soon wonder how your journal managed without them.
