Josei ( 青年, Japanese for 'woman' or 'lady') is s a demographic term for anime and manga aimed at adult women. These stories are more grounded and have more mature themes than a Shōjo. The market for Josei manga is small, even in Japan, and Josei stories are the least well-known among all the demographics. However, there are many hidden gems to find and read here.
