Seinen ( 青年, Japanese for 'Youth') is s a demographic term for anime and manga aimed at adult men. Seinen spans a wide range of genres, from action to horror to even romance. Since it caters to adult men, Seinen series usually have mature themes. If there is violence, it will likely be more explicit than violence in a Shōnen. If there is romance, it will be depicted more pragmatically than romance in a Shōjo.
