About
Square rugs for living rooms, bedrooms and reading corners Some parts of a room want a square: the floor in front of an armchair, a reading corner, the space under a square coffee table or beside the bed, or a square room where a long rug looks lost. A square rug sits evenly from every side, so it looks planned for the space rather than squeezed in. Most of the square rugs here are soft shaggy rugs in a small 120 x 120 cm size, in plain colours and patterns. A thick pile gives a small rug a lot of presence for what it costs. Which size of square rug do you need? Small square rug (120 x 120 cm). Fits under a small coffee table, in front of an armchair or beside the bed. It is not big enough for a sofa to stand on, so for that, look at our living room rugs . Large square rug (200 x 200 cm). We have a smaller choice at this size. It takes the front legs of a two-seater sofa, or goes under a small square dining table, around 80 cm across, with room for the chairs to stay on the rug when they are pulled out. Before you order, mark the size out on the floor with masking tape or a few sheets of newspaper. It takes two minutes and shows you exactly how much floor the rug will cover. Soft shaggy squares with a 30 mm pile Our shaggy square rugs have a 30 mm polypropylene pile on a cotton-mix backing. They come in plain colours, from white and beige to duck egg blue, green, pink and yellow, in geometric designs, and in Moroccan-inspired diamond and trellis patterns in ivory, beige and grey. Soft underfoot, which is why they suit bedrooms and reading corners. Suitable for underfloor heating. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, so the materials are tested for harmful substances. Easy to look after: vacuum on a suction-only setting and blot spills straight away. The larger 200 x 200 cm squares are plain rugs with a low 8.5 mm pile. A low pile is easy to vacuum and sits flat under table and chair legs. Good to know before your rug arrives Colour: screens show colour differently, espe
