Launched in 2013 and based in Tokyo, Kaptain Sunshine is designer Shinsuke Kojima’s homage to vintage Americana, with each season riffing on variations of field and naval workwear. Kojima-san draws from his rich, archival knowledge of heritage clothing but executes each season in a way that is strikingly modern. He uses volume, cut, and fabric to produce his own refreshing takes on outdoor and nautical influences.
