Celery Companions

Celery has been shown to benefit from the nearby planting of several other vegetables and herbs. Cauliflower, for example, has been shown to enhance the vegetative production of celery and cauliflower is known to ward off celery rust. While scientific support is scarce, celery and bush beans have long been thought to be of mutual benefit to one another and are cited in many gardening books as good companion plants. Finally, aromatic herbs like thyme and rosemary offer widespread protection against insect pests which may threaten celery plants.
