About

The famed use of zari in woven textiles go back to the ancient Vedic texts. Pure Tissue – a magnificent shimmering fabric is woven using zari threads across the entire body, in both the warp and weft. The use of tissue is said to have heightened during the rule of Mughal Emperor Jahangir and was originally woven as veils, dupattas, turbans and subsequently, as sarees. Today, tissue is woven with several other fabrics to carefully blend the metallic sheen of zari with the many properties of other fabrics.
