Founded in 1935 by Louis Gringer in New York, ALLWAY® began with an innovative concept—a pistol grip hacksaw purchased from a customer as payment for an outstanding account at the family hardware store. Louis soon went on to design the four-way keyhole saw, the All-Way Handy Saw, which featured a blade that locked in four different positions. This groundbreaking tool led to the company’s name, although it was originally known as Ultra Mfg. Co. In 1954, Louis’ son Donald Gringer joined the company, bringing his engineering expertise and passion for product design. Under his leadership, ALLWAY® expanded its reach, developing new products and becoming a global leader in the industry. Today, ALLWAY® operates from a state-of-the-art 80,000-square-foot facility in the Bronx, New York. Since completing the expansion in 2005, the company has integrated cutting-edge research and development, CAD design, manufacturing, and warehousing, ensuring a strong foundation for continued growth and innovation.
