Junya Watanabe is a renowned Japanese fashion designer who earned his degree from Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo in 1984. Starting his career at Comme des Garcons, Watanabe was quickly promoted to chief designer of the Tricot line, then CDG Homme. In 1993 he launched his own label, Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons, and began showcasing his collections in Paris. Watanabe is renowned for his bold and technical avant-garde style, utilizing cutting-edge fabrics, creative tailoring and intricate draping.
