Rigging Slings Our lifting and rigging slings can be categorized into five general types, based on construction and design: nylon, plasma, polyester, wire rope, and chain. Some styles, such as the eye and eye sling and the endless sling , are available in both nylon and polyester. Industrial Lifting Straps Proof Testing All of our crane rigging slings are eligible for proof testing prior to shipment. Our policies regarding proof testing varies by the type of sling: Plasma ®, High Performance, and Chain Slings All plasma®, high performance roundslings, and chain slings are automatically proof-tested prior to shipment at no extra charge. Nylon, Polyester, and Wire Rope Slings Wire rope and synthetic slings do not automatically come with proof testing. It can be requested for a nominal charge based on the size of the sling. Sentry Lift® HMPE Slings Sentry Lift® slings are built from HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) fiber webbing, engineered by Lift-It using a patent-pending fiber structure from webbing manufacturer OTEX. The fiber structure works similarly to chainmail, distributing force across overlapping fibers so the sling dissipates stress instead of concentrating it at a single point of contact. Sentry Lift® webbing offers abrasion resistance up to 24 times greater than conventional polyester and nylon webbing, cut resistance up to 7 times higher, and up to 80% lower elongation under load, so the sling holds its shape and resists wear better than traditional webbing designs.
