About
The New York Pattern Company (active from 1932 until the early 1950s) produced affordable, private-label home sewing patterns for dry-goods stores and homemakers. They were uniquely characterized by non-glossy paper, hand-drawn character illustrations on narrow envelopes rather than glossy photographs, and instructions printed directly on the inside of the sleeve. See pattern companies for more details.
