A taper pipe ring gage inspects an external tapered pipe thread — the male thread on a pipe end or fitting. The part is threaded into the ring until it is hand tight, and the amount the pipe stands proud of or sits below the face of the gage is the measurement. NPTF Taper Pipe Ring Gage. The full dryseal family in one product — L1 for hand-tight engagement, L2 for wrench engagement and taper, and the 6-step for crest and root truncation, whose face is divided into engraved MN, MX, MNT, MXT, BT and B segments.
