About
Taper ring gages check the external taper — the shank of a tool, arbor or spindle that seats into a tapered bore. The ring verifies the rate of taper and the seating position, so the mating parts make full contact rather than bearing on one end. Taper standards we supply Morse — machine-tool shanks for drills, reamers and centres. Jarno — constant taper rate across the numbered series. Brown & Sharpe — shallow taper for milling collets and arbors. National Machine — steep taper for quick, clean tool release. How they are supplied Every gage ships with a certificate of accuracy traceable to NIST, with final inspection completed in an environmentally controlled ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory. Plug gages for the mating internal taper are on the Taper Plug Gages page.
