About
Thru axles aren't interchangeable. Thread pitch, diameter, length, and head style all vary by frame and fork and a mismatch means your wheel isn't going anywhere, or worse, it's going somewhere it shouldn't. This collection covers the full Wheels Mfg thru axle lineup: front, rear, road, gravel, and mountain, across the dropout standards that are actually on the market. Every axle is machined to spec not sourced from a generic supplier and relabeled. That means consistent thread engagement, correct shoulder length, and a head design that works with your frame's specific interface without chewing up the dropout over time. How to Find the Right Axle Three measurements determine your axle: diameter (typically 12mm or 15mm front, 12mm rear), thread pitch (1.0mm, 1.5mm, or 1.75mm are most common), and length (measured from the inside face of the head to the end of the threads). Check your frame or fork spec sheet, or measure your existing axle before ordering. Front thru axles — 15mm and 12mm, covering road, gravel, and MTB fork standards Rear thru axles — 12mm across a wide range of thread pitches and lengths for current frame platforms Thru axle caps & adapters — for trainers, travel cases, and dropout protection when the wheel is out Stocking a Spare A lost or damaged thru axle ends your ride immediately. Wheels Mfg axles are priced to stock as a spare keep one in your kit bag and you're covered. If you're unsure which axle fits your specific frame or fork, contact our team with the make, model, and year and we'll confirm before you order.
