About
Baijiu is China’s national spirit and the world’s most-consumed distilled beverage by volume — a grain-based liquor typically distilled from sorghum, wheat, rice, or a combination of grains using a fermentation starter called qu . Baijiu ranges from 40–60% ABV and comes in four main aromas: Strong Aroma (most common, fruity and pungent), Light Aroma (clean, mild, grain-forward), Sauce Aroma (rich, complex, savory — including the famous Moutai/Maotai style), and Rice Aroma (delicate, sweet). Premium baijiu is deeply important in Chinese business culture, gift-giving, and banqueting.
