Brookite have been manufacturing kites and outdoor toys for over 100 years. In that time the design and materials have changed enormously and over the last decade power and sport kiting has emerged alongside the pure pleasure kite fliers, taking its place in the surfing and skate boarding cultures and opening new and exciting markets for Brookite. The company are constantly updating and adding to the ranges but still have the basic kite shapes that were the original mainstay of Brookite in 1907 when the company was founded by the Brooke Brothers. They, like everyone else were swept along in the raging enthusiasm for aviation and all things flight related. In 1910 it was a Brookite kite that took an aerial aloft from SS Mafalda in the South Atlantic Ocean enabling radio pioneer, Guglielmo Marconi to make the first ever transatlantic radio message spanning over 6000 miles. With this heritage, the very reason for the company’s longevity has been the ability to adapt to changing trends and to be constantly innovative with new designs, shapes, materials and the more challenging flying techniques that are demanded by current kite flyers and adrenalin junkies! Today this business continues to supply kites and toys to outlets all over the world. Every product leaving the factory is a quality item, supplied at a sensible price and is a part of all the experience gained in over a century of kite making.
