A plant stand turns a pot into a considered design element — elevating plants to the right height, grouping them attractively and making the most of vertical space in rooms that don't have much of it. Our range covers single-pot stands, tiered multi-level displays, ladder shelves and hanging designs in timber, iron and bamboo. Plants have become one of the dominant styling elements in Australian interiors over the past several years, and how they're displayed matters as much as which plants are chosen. A collection of pots on the floor has a very different visual effect from the same pots elevated and grouped at different heights — the latter creates visual movement and suggests intention. Plant stands address two practical problems: height and grouping. Many houseplants — particularly trailing plants like pothos, string of hearts and tradescantia — look best elevated on a stand where their trailing growth can cascade naturally. Plants positioned at floor level often go unnoticed; the same plant at a 70-90cm stand height is at a natural viewing level. Single-pot stands suit statement plants — a tall cactus, a fiddle-leaf fig or a large peace lily that deserves its own space. The stand's material and design should complement both the plant's character and the room's style. Simple wrought iron stands suit almost any interior; timber designs add warmth in Scandinavian or natural material rooms; geometric brass or gold metal stands work in more maximalist spaces. Tiered stands allow a collection of different plants to be grouped in a single footprint at different heights, creating a miniature garden arrangement within a room. A three-tier stand holding 6-9 pots takes up less floor space than the same pots arranged individually and creates a visually interesting grouping. Ladder plant shelves lean against a wall and use vertical space efficiently, typically holding 3-5 levels of plants.
