Caddis larvae are aquatic and build protective cases out of materials such as sand, twigs, and pebbles. These cases can vary in shape and size depending on the species and habitat. Caddisflies are an important food source for trout and hatches can occur throughout the year, making for excellent dry fly fishing in places like our home waters of Montana .
