Yocan has produced different lines of vaporizers that have reached an iconic status through the years. At first there were the Evolve family, which was a line of portable wax pens or wax vaporizers that offered solid performance for the price. Then, the Chinese vaporizer company decided to make something better, a device that was built with the idea of being a universally compatible box mod for a wide variety of cartridges sold on the market — be it pre-filled or refillable carts. Thus, the Yocan UNI (and what would become the predecessor of the UNI family) was born. Yocan UNI: Humble Beginnings The Yocan UNI that was first released by Yocan was far from the UNI that we see from today. It was a basic device that had promising innovations, but had less advanced features. Nevertheless, the journey of the nameplate was fun to see as it started from a basic box mod with appointments never seen from any products in the segment. The very first Yocan UNI had a battery with decent capacity and preset temperature settings — good enough for a budget vaporizer at the time. But what set it apart was its adjustable aperture and height valves that would become a staple of the model. Using the latter, owners of the original Yocan UNI were able to adjust the tightness of the chamber to fit any size cartridge. Likewise, short-length carts were easily accommodated as the Yocan UNI had a height adjustment tool that can push the cartridge up or down the chamber. Also, key to the said system was a magnetic connector with a 510-thread. Using a 510-threaded connector means that it can be compatible with a wide range of products without owners being required to make certain modifications to their devices. The magnetic connector too was a clever way to save money and prolong the longevity of the box mod.
