Furoshiki & Tenugui

Furoshiki ( 風呂敷 ) are traditional square Japanese wrapping cloths used to wrap and/or to transport goods (the name comes from the idea that you would wrap your clothes in these cloths when going to the public bath). There are many designs, and we have a small amount here. Tenugui (手拭い ) are long multi-purpose hand cloths, about 35 x 90 cm, and originally a leftover cut of cloth used for kimono which is why they are known for beautiful designs.
