About
The Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove of Saint-Estèphe Established as an independent estate in 1815, Château Montrose earned its place among the elite in the historic Official 1855 Bordeaux Classification as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé (2nd Growth) . Named after the pink heather ( rose ) that once covered its hillside, Montrose has built an enduring reputation as one of the most powerful, consistent, and age-worthy wines in the entire Médoc. Cabernet Franc (~6%) & Petit Verdot (~2%): Adds delicate violet perfume, dark cocoa, and spice box lift to the final assemblage. In the state-of-the-art cellar, optical sorting ensures only pristine fruit reaches the temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Plot-by-plot vinification allows the team to tailor extraction precisely, preserving fruit purity before aging in French oak barrels (around 60% ne
