Clase Azul is renowned as much for its velvety liquid as for its iconic, hand-painted ceramic decanters. Crafted in the small town of Santa María Canchesda by local artisans—many belonging to the indigenous Mazahua community—each decanter requires up to two weeks to sculpt, glaze, and hand-paint, ensuring no two bottles in the world are identical. Highland Agave Terroir & Time-Honored Production The secret behind Clase Azul’s signature sweetness and silkiness lies in its unhurried, artisanal production process: High-Altitude Agave: 100% Blue Weber agave is grown in the mineral-rich, red volcanic soils of Los Altos de Jalisco (The Highlands of Jalisco). Harvested only after maturing for 6 to 8 years, the high elevation produces agave piñas rich in natural sugars. Brick Oven Slow-Cooking: The agave piñas are slow-cooked in traditional stone brick ovens ( hornos ) for 72 hours, unlocking deep, rich caramelization and natural agave sweetness. Proprietary Fermentation & Copper Distillation: Fermented with a proprietary yeast strain and double-distilled in traditional copper pot stills, creating a clean, full-bodied spirit.
