About

The Historic Pride of Tequila, Jalisco Founded in 1959 by Don Jorge Salles Cuenca in the historic town of Tequila itself, El Tequileño (NOM 1108) stands as one of the most respected, authentic tequila houses in Mexico. Named in honor of the residents of Tequila, the distillery has maintained an unbroken legacy of family craft for over six decades. Today, under the guidance of Master Distiller Antonio Salles (Grandson of Don Jorge), El Tequileño remains one of the very few tequilas produced in its own dedicated, single-brand distillery ( La Guarreña ). Globally revered by agave purists and top bartenders for its 100% additive-free integrity, El Tequileño combines mature Highland agaves with pure, mineral-rich subterranean water sourced from the Volcán de Tequila. Distilled in traditional copper pot stills and fermented in open-air cement vats shaded by historic mango trees, every expression captures the vibrant, earthy spirit of Jalisco. Craftsmanship & Uncompromising Production Standards Highland Blue Weber Agave: Sourced exclusively from the mineral-dense red clay soils of Los Altos de Jalisco, harvested at peak maturity (6 to 8 years) to ensure rich natural sugar levels. Volcanic Spring Water: Distilled using pristine water from a natural spring originating directly from the Tequila Volcano, imparting unique softness and mineral balance. Copper Pot Distillation & Mango Tree Fermentation: Agave juice ferments naturally in open vats beneath 150-year-old mango trees, incorporating indigenous airborne yeasts that contribute tropical fruit top-notes. 100% Additive-Free: Certified clean without added caramel colorings, glycerin, oak extracts, or artificial sweeteners. Core Expressions & Portfolio Highlights El Tequileño Blanco: Pure, unaged agave energy. Vibrant and pepper-forward, bursting with cooked agave, lime zest, herbal anise, and white pepper. El Tequileño Reposado: Aged for 3 months in American oak pipons. A pioneer of its category, balancing cooked
