Dementia can make home an unfamiliar place. Even when someone has lived there for many years it becomes increasingly difficult to remember where things are. Combined with reduced problem-solving abilities, increased disorientation in everyday life can become very challenging. Together with FIND, and with input from people affected by dementia we have developed a range of dementia-friendly signs to help reduce confusion and aid daily orientation for people living with dementia.
