Black glass is dense by design. Almost no light passes through it, so it reads as outline and shadow. We stock solid black opal, blacks with a slight color cast in transmitted light, and streaky blacks mixed with white or gray. Use it for contrast, borders, and anywhere you would otherwise rely on lead lines to define a shape.
