Steel and aluminium backplates for technical diving. A backplate is the rigid spine of a backplate-and-wing system — it carries the harness, the wing, and your cylinders, and its weight forms part of your ballast. Steel plates add roughly 5-6 lb of ballast and suit cold water and drysuits; aluminium plates keep travel weight down. Shop plates on their own or as complete systems with harness and wing included.
