Seedling-grown stock varies in height, habit and timing, which is why this range focuses on grafted and clonal selections that grow uniformly and colour at the same time. Spacing depends on the effect you want. Three metres gives a continuous canopy that closes over a driveway. Eight to ten metres suits large shade trees where each canopy should read separately. Narrow columnar varieties can go tighter again. Order the full quantity in one go where possible. Trees grown in the same batch will match more closely than stock bought a season apart.
