A faceplate is the old-school way to mount a bowl blank or large turning project to your lathe — bolt the blank to the faceplate, thread the faceplate onto your headstock spindle, and you're ready to cut. Faceplates have largely been replaced by four-jaw chucks for most everyday work, but they're still the right tool when you want a rock-solid mount for a large or unbalanced piece, or when you're turning something that won't fit any jaw set. We stock faceplates sized for the most common lathe spindles. Match the thread spec to your lathe before ordering.
