They clean glass, rocks, and plants without harming most live plants, so they’re great for planted and community tanks. They need calcium to keep their shells strong and are sensitive to copper and poor water quality. Keep water stable and flow gentle to moderate, and use a tight lid as nerites can climb out. They may lay eggs on hard surfaces, but those eggs won’t hatch in freshwater, so you won’t get unwanted babies.
