WHAT IS A BEAM TROLLEY? A beam trolley – also called a beam travelling trolley or beam trolley hoist – is a mechanical device that has been specifically designed to move along an overhead beam or rail. This equipment is commonly used in industrial environments such as warehouses, factories, garages and workshops where heavy loads need to be moved horizontally. There are options for manual beam trolleys in the form of push travel trolleys , and electrically powered options in the form of electric travel trolleys . Commonly used in conjunction with a chain hoist (also available in both manual and electric), beam trolleys are known for their versatility and often remove the need for a complex conveyor system. A beam trolley hoist is proven to be a far more cost-effective solution, with less maintenance and higher productivity output. FEATURES OF BEAM TROLLEYS A beam travelling trolley features several components that provide advantages for horizontal movement. From the wheels and beam attachments to adjustable widths and working load limits, these are what make up a beam trolley . · Attachment to a Beam: The trolley is designed to securely attach to an overhead beam or rail. These are mounted at a high level, and the trolley can traverse across its length. · Working Load Limit (WLL): Beam travel trolleys are constructed to support light and heavy loads, and the WLL is determined by the design and materials of the trolley. All WLL capacities are stated on the product listings of our website. · Attachment Points: Beam trolleys can feature different attachment points or mechanisms for connecting to loads. These include hooks, eyelets or other fixtures that provide a secure connection. · Wheels/Rollers: The bottom of the beam trolley is equipped with wheels or rollers that support traversing of the beam, allowing the trolley to carry the load. · Adjustable Width: Some beam travel trolleys have an adjustable width to accommodate different sizes of beams/rails, supporting a
